Controversial procedure for the excision of a bladder diverticulum where there is bladder calculus and renal function is compromised due to an inability to empty the bladder.

This procedure is done to enlarge a bladder, especially in the spinal patient with a small contracted overactive bladder. It can also be done as last resort in small overactive bladder after all other medical options have failed. The bladder is bi-valved and a piece of small bowel is placed in the gap. These patients will require intermittent self catheterization to empty their bladders
